Tolkien used to meet his friends in the Eagle and Child Pub in Oxford, UK to discuss writing and many other things. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for for those conversations. What it must have been like to hear about their daily lives and their literary works at the same time.
Challenge to write with pith
Writing challenge for myself. One post per day about something random and constrained to 300 characters. This won’t be easy as I can be verbose. I also am challenging myself to make things easier to read like Hemingway. Mind you what I mostly write is fantasy and requires some higher vocabulary.
The reason for this blog is simple: I love to write, but I often don’t publish most of it. I want to use this blog as a means to create short thoughtful commentary on writing, literature, education, and technology. As a Tolkien fan, I also want to share things I enjoy from the Legendarium. Cheers!
